8-3 Loss at Home to the Lakers

The Brooklin Redmen took to the floor in their fourth game in seven nights in this early part of the season with a 1-3 record. Coming off a win to start the season, they were coming in to last night’s game on a three game losing streak and were looking for answers. Wayne Colley gave the nod to Mike Poulin in the net.

At the end of the night, they fell to 1-4 as the offence was only able to solve Laker goalie Evan Kirk once per period and gave up four power play goals en route to an 8-3 loss.

Poulin made his 2015 home debut in the Redmen net and seemed to make a difference early on as teams were 1-1 after first frame. Lakers won the second period by a 4-1 margin with a pair for Mark Steenhuis. Down 5-1 at the end of the second the Redmen called a time out and were able to muster two great scoring chances in the dying seconds but it was not to be on this night. They were able to close the gap six minutes in to the final frame to make it 5-2 but lost the period by a 3-1 margin for the loss.

Kyle Whitlow continues with his offensive prowess for the Redmen with a two goal and one assist night, Shawn Williams assisted on each of the Redmen goals.

Coming off that four game run in the last seven nights, the Redmen travel to KW on Sunday at 6 pm and are home on Wednesday June 17 to Oakville – a pair of wins would help to save this early part of the season.
