BLC Well-Represented at 2023 NLL Draft

The 2023 National Lacrosse League (NLL) 2023 Draft took place today in Oakville, ON, the Brooklin Lacrosse Club and the Whitby Warriors fared well as many of its top prospects were selected by numerous NLL teams. Congratulations to GM Brad MacArthur for his efforts at finding and selecting these talented lacrosse players and men over the years and to coaching staff - Jason Crosbie, Gavin Prout, Derek Suddons and Ryan Degerdon for providing guidance on the floor. 

FIRST ROUND RESULTS

1st overall - Albany – Dyson Williams- Duke - Brooklin L.C.

2nd overall - Las Vegas (from Vancouver) – Adam Poitras- Loyola - Whitby Warriors

4th overall - Vancouver (from Las Vegas) –Payton Cormier- Virginia - Brooklin L.C.

7th overall - Vancouver (from Philadelphia) – Brock Haley- University of Vermont- Whitby Warriors

10th overall - New York (Halifax trades the 2023 10th overall pick to New York for New York’s 2025 first round pick) – Jake Stevens- Princeton/Syracuse - Brooklin L.C.

15th overall - Rochester – (Buffalo trades the 2023 15th overall pick to Rochester in exchange for a 2024 first round pick) – Graydon Hogg- University of Albany- Whitby Warriors

16th overall  - Rochester – (Calgary trades the 2023 16th, 2023 35th overall picks, and Kyle Waters  to Rochester for Thomas Hoggarth and Thomas Vela) – Ben MacDonnell - Robert Morris - Brooklin L.C.

17th overall - Albany (compensatory selection) – Zachary Young- North Carolina - Brooklin L.C.
