Critical Win for Redmen in Brampton Last Night as Playoffs Loom

The Brooklin Redmen packed up for a visit to Brampton's Memorial Arena last night in their second to last regular season home game and came away with the ever important two points to stay ahead of Oakville for third place (the Rock lost last night 15-8 in Peterborough).

For the second night in a row the Redmen exploded in an eight goal run (not consecutive as in the Six Nations game) but all in the second to win that period 8-2 and take a 12-7 lead into the final frame.

The Excelsiors outscored the Redmen 4-1 in the final 20 minutes but an important 13-11 win for Brooklin was the final result.

The Redmen (7-8-2) will host the Oakville Rock (7-9-1) on Wednesday July 26 at 8 pm for their regular season finale. The Rock host Brampton on Monday and an Excelsior win will give third place to the Redmen, a Rock win will set up a great game on Wednesday as Oakville would only be one point back.

Peterborough leads the league (15-1-0 for 30 points) with two games to go and Six Nations in second (13-1-1 for 27 points) with three games to go, these two teams play in Six Nations on Tuesday for what will very likely decide top spot.

The Redmen are proud to announce that July 26 is also the annual Scott McMichael Minor Lacrosse Night as the team honour's their fallen teammate.
