Fraser Taking Her Talents to Canada Basketball

The Brooklin Lacrosse Club (BLC) will be without the services of their trainer, Kaylin Fraser for a few weeks this month. She is taking her talents to the world stage for an opportunity with Canada Basketball. The national team will train at Humber College in Toronto from June 23 - July 1 before travelling to Brno, Czechia for the World Cup tournament taking place July 11 - 19.

“I am working with the U -17 women’s national team for Canada Basketball. Training camp starts on the 23rd of June and we leave for a pre-tournament competition in Spain on July 1st,” said Fraser in an interview on June 18th before a BLC game in Cobourg.

“Last year I was with the same age group, they were U-16 and we played in the Americup in Mexico where we won silver and that gave us the opportunity to play in the World Cup this year,” said Fraser when asked about her journey.

“These women are all playing prep and are looking to take their talents to play for the senior women’s national team. In the meantime, they will play in the United States in various colleges and universities,” added Fraser.

In addition to her work with Canada Basketball and BLC, Fraser is also a trainer with the Oshawa Firewolves of the National Lacrosse League.

In 2015, Fraser was hired to create and develop Centennial College’s Strength and Conditioning (S&C) program for varsity teams. She oversees and coordinates the S&C program and works closely with Centennial Fitness and Health Promotion placement students to deliver training and programming for nine varsity teams.
