MacArthur Submits Resignation as Brooklin Lacrosse Club General Manager

“The time has come for me to step away. The demands of my employment are increasing and responsibilities to match. It is unfair to the organization for me to try and keep things organized from such a massive distance. The Brooklin Lacrosse Club has been part of my life since I was a kid. Fan, player, coach, manager, and now back to being a fan.” With these words, Brad MacArthur notified the club of his decision to step away from his GM duties.

In February 2022, MacArthur was appointed the head coach of the men’s lacrosse program at Florida Tech in Melbourne, FL. He was able to continue in both roles but decided that this season would be his last with Brooklin as the demands on his time and energy with the Panthers have grown much greater. The Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech or FIT) is a private research university in Melbourne, Florida. The university comprises four academic colleges: Engineering & Science, Aeronautics, Psychology & Liberal Arts, and Business.

Club President, Dean Link, said “with the departure of Wayne Colley eight and a half years ago Brad had big shoes to fill. During his tenure as GM of the Brooklin Redmen/Brooklin Lacrosse Club, and the Brooklin Merchants, Brad did an exemplary job. Being a GM is a thankless job, but Brad took on the role with the goal of always making decisions based on what he believed was best for the clubs, ahead of all else. He received well-deserved recognition in 2023 when Major Series Lacrosse chose him as the winner of the Jim Brady Award. I can't thank Brad enough for all that he has done for us as an organization, and myself personally. I wish him nothing but the best as he continues to live the lacrosse life in Florida!”

The club will announce a successor shortly.
