Merchants Need Big Third Period to Dispatch the James Gang
By Mark Stehlin
The Brooklin Merchants were on the road last night in Lakefield to tangle with the Ennismore James Gang. The teams traded punches in the first two periods with the home side taking the opening frame 3-2. The teams went back and forth in the second, which the home side won by a score of 3-2, and the James Gang held a tenuous 6-5 lead heading into the final twenty minutes.
The Parker boys put the team on their backs and decided enough was enough. Devon with one goal and Parker with two led a six-goal unanswered run in the first half of the final frame. The Merchants went on to a 13-8 victory to improve to 11-2 on the season, dropping the James Gang to 1-12-1.
