Redmen Add One to the Win Column

With the Oakville Rock looking to clinch a playoff spot, the Brooklin Redmen visited the the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre last night and spoiled the party with a 9-5 win to keep their own season alive. Struggling with a record of 4-11-1 for nine points, they are now tied with Kitchener Waterloo for last overall and three points out of the final playoff spot with two games remaining in the regular season.

Monday night at the TRAC started well for the Redmen as Shawn Williams opened the scoring en route to a 3-1 lead after the opening frame.

The Rock struck first early in the middle frame and each team was able to find the back of the net three times giving the Redmen a 6-4 lead after two periods. Williams added one in the second as did Mike Triolo and T.J. Sanders.

The home side made it interesting to start the third with a very early goal to cut the lead to 6-5. The Redmen would not be denied however, Mike Teeter with a pair and a single to Dan Ball helped the Redmen to a 9-5 win and the season series over the Rock with three wins and one loss.

Brooklin will have the advantage of home cooking down the stretch, they host league leading Six Nations tomorrow night and wrap up the 2015 regular season on Wednesday July 29 with a visit from the Brampton Excelsiors.
