Redmen Drop one to the Lakers

Coming off a win over Cobourg 24 hours prior, the Brooklin Redmen packed up for game at the Memorial Centre against the Lakers Thursday night.  This was the second of three games for the Redmen in a busy week that culminates with a visit to Cobourg on Sunday at 6 pm.

Corey Small, who recently joined the Lakers after a few years in the WLA, opened the scoring but the Redmen answered with two of their own in the opening frame to take a 2-1 lead to the break.

The Lakers came out quick in the middle frame to tie the game at 0:39 and tallied two more for the 4-2 lead with just under 5:00 on the clock. Redmen rookie Nick Chaykowsky stopped the run, briefly, and it was 4-3 for the Lakers heading into the last period.

A three goal unanswered run to start the final period for the Lakers would clinch the win by a final of 8-4 win to improve to 5-1 on the season with the Redmen at 3-1. In other MSL action last night, Brampton dropped Six Nations by a final of 13-12 for their first win of the season.

The Redmen remind fans that Wednesday June 20 is the annual Scott McMichael Minor Lacrosse Night as Six Nations is in town for an 8 pm start. As well, download the new Redmen app through Google Play or the Apple store for all mobile devices.
