Redmen Prepare for 2018 Draft

The Major Series Lacrosse entry draft is set for Sunday January 28, 2018 at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville,  ON. The draft will feature five rounds where 30 graduating juniors will be selected. The Redmen will have picks 2 and 4 in the first round and pick number 4 in each of rounds 2, 4 and 5 for a total of five picks. 

In preparation for the draft the team has protected four graduating juniors as permitted under league rules.

In no particular order the Redmen protected:

Adam Perroni - his father Eric and uncle Andy are former Redmen Mann Cup champs. GM Brad MacArthur described Perroni as a big body who is a threat on transition. He played minor in Whitby and suited up for the Green Gaels and the Whitby Warriors where in 2017 he played 19 games, notching 5 goals and 5 assists for 10 points. He also made an impression on NLL scouts as he was selected in the 2nd round by the Rochester KnightHawks.

Ethan Schott - MacArthur described him as possessing speed, toughness, and grit as well as a transition threat. He also played minor in Whitby and played for the Green Gaels and the Warriors where in 2017 15 games he registered a goal and five helpers. He was also on the radar for the NLL as a 2nd round pick of the Buffalo Bandits.

Keenan Cook - a Junior at Siena College in Albany, New York.  He is viewed as a reliable defender who sees the floor well, can transition the ball and plays smart with a knack for communicating and putting himself into good positions in all areas of the floor. He notched 8 goals and 9 helpers for 17 points in 20 games for the Warriors in 2017. Cook played minor in Clarington and spent time with the Shamrox and the Warriors. 

Connor Kearnan - a Senior at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. He possesses ability as a natural scorer and is not afraid to go to the dirty areas of the floor for those chances. He led the Warriors in 2017 scoring with 42 goals and 41 assists for 83 points in 20 games played.  He played minor in Clarington and suited up for the Gaels and the Warriors.
