Sponsor and Community Partner Thank You Letters
PO Box 146 Brooklin, ON L1M 1B5
On behalf of the entire Brooklin Lacrosse Club (BLC) organization, I would like to thank you for your sponsorship in the 2024 season. It is through community partnerships like yours that we are able to assemble a hard-working and exciting product each summer in Major Series Lacrosse (MSL).
On the floor, we finished with a record of 9-3 good for second place in the seven-team league. Our starting goaltender Zach Higgins won the Most Valuable Player of the Year Award in MSL and our coaching staff of Joel Johnson, Brad Reed and Clancy Almas were honoured with the Coaching Staff of the Year Award in their first season behind the bench. We met the Brampton Excelsiors in a best-of-five opening round playoff series and dispatched them in three straight games. We were then matched up against the Peterborough Lakers in the semi-finals, we lost that series 4-0. This result was far below our expectations for the season, but it will only fuel us to come back stronger in 2025. Indeed, first-year General Manager, Gavin Prout and new Head Coach, Joel Johnson have already commenced strategizing for next season.
Off the floor, we worked hard to provide fans with an exciting game night experience. We provided high school students with an opportunity to complete their community service hours as they assisted with game night activities. We added new banners in the arena to promote our top end sponsors and these were captured as part of Rogers TV game of the week productions. We strive to work with sponsors in an effort to tailor an arrangement that maximizes exposure for their product or service. Finally, we held our first annual BLC and Merchants Lacrosse Club golf tournament in July and we hope to run that event again next year.
BLC have captured 13 Ontario Major Series Championships as well as (7) seven Mann Cup National Canadian Championships, a past of which we are enormously proud. We are busy recruiting a strong team for the 2025 summer campaign while the rest of the Executive team is working diligently to get off-the-floor tasks such as sponsor/partnership and fundraising completed.
As a proud community owned and operated club, we depend upon the support shown by you and other community minded businesses. For more information, please log on to www.brooklinlc.com or check us out via Twitter “X” @brooklinlc and IG @brooklinlc for more information.
Sincerely,
Dean Link, President, Brooklin Lacrosse Club
On behalf of the Merchants Lacrosse Club (MLC), we would like to thank you for your sponsorship in the 2024 season. It is through community partnerships like yours that we can assemble a hard-working and exciting product each summer in Ontario Series Lacrosse (OSL).
On the floor, we finished with a record of 13-3 good for second place in the six-team league. Our starting goaltender Deacan Knott won the Most Valuable Player of the Year Award in OSL and our coaching staff of Ryan Degerdon and Mark Debrone were honoured as the Coaching Staff of the Year Award in their first season behind the bench. We met the Hamilton Bengals in a best-of-five opening round playoff series and dispatched them in three straight games. We were then matched up against the defending OSL Champion Six Nations Rivermen in the OSL finals, we lost that series 3-1. This result was below our expectations for the season, but it will only fuel us to come back stronger in 2025. Indeed, first-year General Manager, Gavin Prout and new Head Coach, Ryan Degerdon have already commenced strategizing for next season.
Off the floor, we worked hard to provide fans with an exciting game night experience and are proud to be playing in Brooklin in front of our hometown faithful. We provided high school students with an opportunity to complete their community service hours as they assisted with game night activities. We strive to work with sponsors to tailor an arrangement that maximizes exposure for their product or service. Finally, we held our first annual MLC and Brooklin Lacrosse Club golf tournament in July, and we plan to run that event again next year.
We are thrilled to announce our successful bid to host the Presidents Cup in 2025. The Presidents Cup is the National Senior B box lacrosse championship for the Canadian Lacrosse Association (CLA). The annual championship awards Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. It is held in honour of the CLA President and recognizes the contributions of all Past Presidents of the CLA. This beautiful silver trophy was donated to the CLA in September 1964 by Mr. K.G. Thompson. As hosts, we earn a berth along with one other Ontario based team. In addition, teams from British Columbia, Alberta and Indigenous communities from Eastern Canada will descend upon Durham Region for this tournament in late August 2025. We hope you will join us and be part of this exciting event for the club, the league and the Region.
